The Closest Living Thing is a collection of 14 acoustic versions of Hunters & Collectors favorites including, “Throw Your Arms Around Me”, “River Runs Dry”, and “Holy Grail.”
Mark reached Australian rock cult status throughout the 80’s and 90’s with Hunters & Collectors. The band performed around the world and toured extensively in Canada, often sharing the stage with Midnight Oil. The powerhouse musical group influenced millions, and their songs have been heard around the world. There have been many covers of their hits, one of the most popular being Pearl Jam’s cover of ‘Throw Your Arms Around Me’, which Mark and Eddie Vedder have performed together. Hunters & Collectors disbanded in 1998 and since that time Mark has moved forward with a solo career.
Canada has always held a special place in Seymour’s heart. Immortalizing Mississauga in his song of the same name and the truly Canadian experience of hitting a moose in his short story "John Archer and the Moose", taken from Mark’s book Thirteen Tonne Theory.
“The Rockies loomed above us. A fog was rising as we headed east along the Trans-Canada Highway.” – John Archer and the Moose
