Here are some frequently asked questions that should help with your decision on working in Canada, and the CanAussie.com site
Who would want to come to Canada to work?
Anyone and everyone! As long as you fit the guidelines for the Canadian Working Holiday Permit program, then you are free to go to Canada and work almost wherever you want. You can work in the ski fields as a ski bunny, work on the dog sleds, get a bar job in Vancouver, work in the French quarter of Canada, Quebec, or any one of a multitude of options... the sky is the limit, literally!
What do you need?
You only need a few things to get you into the country, like your work visa/permit and travel insurance, but it's a good idea to make sure you've got a bit of cash backing you as well - it costs a bit to get yourself sorted in a new country before you find work. You also need your wits about you, as you're going to have to make a few decisions that are going to affect what happens to you over the next however long you stay in the one place. The good thing about coming to a different country is that you can chop and change what you are doing fairly easily, so if you go to Whistler and don't find work in a month, you can always drop back down to Vancouver and find work fairly easily. Why would you want to come to Canada?
If you're a little adventurous and want to do something different for a while, going to Canada is a great option as it is very similar to Australia and the other commonwealth countries, but it has a great natural wealth of different stuff to do, from the west coast city of Vancouver, a bunch of ski resorts in the rockies, life on the prairies where it can be +40c in the summer to -40c in the winter, the French quarter as already mentioned has a variety of draws, and the east coast provinces are just backwards life at its best. You can work any where and everywhere, experience the culture, meet some excellent people, and, at the possibility of sounding corny, have the time of your life. For serious. When would you come to Canada?
The thing to remember is that the seasons in Canada are the opposite to those in Australia, so if you want to come for the ski season, then that's the same time as summer in Australia. Winter in Canada can be fairly brutal out on the praries in the interior of the country, but on the west coast in Vancouver or up in the rockies at a ski resort the winters are a lot more bearable. During the summer Canada is awesome, as everywhere is warm and sunny, and you can find some of the best outdoor activities in the world.
