Edmonton

Hey guys and gals,

So im off to edmonton on the 17th of Feb, wondering if anyones in edmonton, and also where they suggest i start looking for work? Background is IT Networking/Server Admin but im looking to pick up anything as soon as possible. Any suggestions would be great, and if anyone has any hookups for a job that would be even better.

Unless you have lots of cash to support you, think casual before comfortable.

Hit up the backpackers noticeboards and try labour hire companies. once you have a casual job thats helping pay the bills then you look for your it job smile

From what I've been told when I was considering moving to Calgary or Edmonton from Canmore, there is a ton of jobs in Edmonton. When I was talking to a taxi driver in Edmonton he said office jobs pay really well too ("well" is $18/hr and over). Definitely try signing up with recruitment agencies if they have any that specialize in the IT field. I'm in Calgary but I signed up with a temp office recruitment agency on Monday and got work the next day! U could always get work at West Edmonton Mall while you look for work in your field. Hey Brett how's job the hunt going? I just arrived in Van and am Systems/Network Admin as well, have a few mates here in the field that have pointed me in the right direction but not sure how it'll pan out...
