The comprehensive what to take list

Pretty much I am trying to compile a list of what is nessisairy for my Canadian adventure/life.

My current plan will leave me the first month or two to organize myself into work. But I also wanna be missing anny "comfort items"
Apon arrival will need to

    Get a licence
      Get a sic number
        Get a bank
          Find perminent living arrangement
look into getting my trade recognized (electrician)
              I'll need a phone

Now anything I can buy in Canada is gonnacome from Canada, is it worth buying a good camera here?
              Will my iPhone be usable?
What documents besides my passport and drivers licence will I need? I don't want to be sourcing extra documents from oz while in Canada
Should I buy adapters for laptop/phone chargers or just buy new chargers in Canada (apple products)
How should I have my money, is my current ank account all I need or do I need a new travelers account
Is there a credit card that would do e best in Canada or just a regular oz one?

Anny thing else you can suggest to me to help my process?

              Cheers,
              Soon to be canaussie

Re: The comprehensive what to take list

              Hey Belcher,

Here's a few things that may not be on your list already:

              http://canaussie.com/quick-reference/qu … g-with-you

Your laptop & phone power supplies/plugs should be fine, but you'll need to get an adapter plug between the Aus & Canadian pin pattern. Get that before you leave, as it's easier to find one for Canada in Australia than once you get there.

Credit card would be fine for a week or two, but once you get to Canada set yourself up a bank account and transfer a bulk amount of cash into that using someone like Ozforex, for whom we've got a deal here: http://canaussie.com/articles/banking-a … y-overseas

Any bank would be reasonable, however one that interfaces with Ozforex is/was my choice - TD, RBC etc.

iPhone will be usable, head to Fido and get yourself a prepaid SIM.

              Hope that helps!

              J
