World Cargo Shipping - DO NOT USE THEM

Hi there,

I am an Aussie that was living in Vancouver for 2 years and i just shipped my stuff back to Perth with World Cargo Shipping out of Van based on the reccommendation of a few Aussies that have used them in the past. I just wanted to let everyone know my experience with them and would recommend you USE ANOTHER COMPANY to ship your goods. In the end they held my goods in their warehouse in Van for 2 months before they even shipped it (we were told it would go the following week), lost a lot of my paper work that i had to spend my own time and money re-doing and never returned my calls/emails to let me know of the status of my shipment. This was all annoying but the worst of all was that they ended up charging my credit card over $350 more than the price i was quoted and we agreed on. After a lot of follow up and hassle i have only been able to get half of that money back and am still out of pocket. I also have another friend who shipped her stuff back to Brissy with them and had a similar experience. Anyway, hope this helps when you are choosing a shipper.

Cheers

Re: World Cargo Shipping - DO NOT USE THEM

Hi J,

Thanks for your feedback! I've actually been looking into shippers as we'll be sending stuff back next year. Do you mind giving us an idea of how much stuff you shipped and a ball park cost for that (both what they quoted you and what it ended up being)?

Thanks!

Re: World Cargo Shipping - DO NOT USE THEM

Hey Jared - we sent back around 1 cubic metre (9 boxes/suitcases) approx but i can{t remember exactly and they quoted us about $800 (including approx $250 for insurance) and it ended up costing us an extra $350 of unathorised charges to my card and then around another $250 in fees to pick the stuff up at the Australian port. Hope you have better luck than me.

Agh! Good to know! Did you ship anything from Perth on your way to Van, by the way? I'm currently tossing up whether to get my stuff shipped (from Perth, too) but the quotes I got were in the $2000-7000 (!!) range! Wouldn't be more than a couple of cubic metres if they stacked it.
