Wow, that's pretty full on mate. Just had a look at their site and they're all about getting you into the deal. I'm sure if you looked at the contract that you signed then there would be a way of getting out of it - for one thing, it's not as advertised on the site, as they spout that they'll get you the best deals on travel insurance and flight travel.

I know this may cause pain for you to do so, but if you do go through with it do you mind using this thread as a spot to note down how they have and haven't helped you? Then hopefully this review of Global Work and Travel Co will help others in the future.

I'd be really interested in how they propose to get you work over here. Did they give some promises as to places you'd be able to work, or was it like another person I heard of where they got to Vancouver and asked "So you were going to help me get a job?"... the company emloyee said "Oh? ok.", dialled up Craigslist on their computer then turned the screen towards the unlucky punter.

If you do cancel, then you'll probably get your $500 back through savings by using another TI provider (like the World Nomads one we recommend here, which last time I checked for an average Aussie runs you about $750/year) and using a flights engine like the one that Jake recommended in another thread: http://matrix.itasoftware.com/search.ht … 89426ade21

update!! on work and travel co

I paid for my flight which they told me was on the 28th
after I paid they rang me and said it has to be the 27th now, I told them from the start I had my best friends wedding on the 26th, its the only reason Im waiting  before I leave

surely I can sue them for something?!!
so far i HAVE PAID $700 more for a flight than I had to, they have put me on a plane for the wrong date, they tried to get me on there insurance but won that little battle, when i tried to back out they said I would be charged a canelation fee, they a the worse people I have ever dealt with so far

Now I have no confidence in this company what so ever............I have no doubt I will get screwed with the job situation as well!!

why does anyone use these companies, out of interest i dropped my phone number in on one of there websites. When they called me up i let them give me the sales pitch.
Basicly he said he can get me into the working holiday program (no duh) for only 1000 dollars! plus 50 for police clearance 30 for traffic and 150 for Canadian government... so only 1230 dollars to get my visa..
i asked what other service comes with this, and they then told me about there work packages they also offer with such awesome benefits as "local style resume" and "local sim card" and this was only 2000 extra.

i let them talk to me for about an hour for fun (had nothing else to do while driving) and could not help but laugh when i finished the call

so i am curiose to know how manny people actually fall for this 3300 dollar fraud.
