Aura Borealis AKA Northern Lights

I read on the news that last night and tonight were/are meant to be good for seeing the northern lights in upper USA and throughout Canada. Just wondering if anyone has seen them, I've been keen to see them for a long time! Though I suppose it is a bit hard being in the city though with all the other lights unfortunately.

Yes! I'd heard that too! I desperately want to see them, but having a baby at home is crimping my style for late night sorte's... plus all the smoke around at the moment from the fires will probably hinder any look we'll get from here in town.

I was thinking perhaps somewhere in Stanley Park you may be able to get away from other lights far enough to be able to see something.

Yeah I can imagine that would make things a bit hectic, hope it is all going well for you!

I tried to have a lookout but unfortunately the skies weren't clear enough sad

Yeah, I tried to have a look too but the smoke combined with city lights defeated me. Damn... will just have to get out into the wilderness to see it!

managed to see them twice in the past month or so, absolutely stunning!
the first time I saw then i also managed to see the meteor shower at the same time - too bad i was floating down the yukon river and had no tripod to take some good pics!

Jeepers! Way to rub it in!

Do you have any pictures of your northern adventures anywhere that you don't mind sharing Lalulabelle?

One of our original intentions was to drive up to Inuvik from Vancouver. It's still on the list, but we'll have to save it for next time we're over here... will just have to live vicariously till then!
